Make friends! Practice sports ! And learn French!

Be part of this exceptional and absolutely innovational program!

Updated November 22nd.

This program is made possible with the support of the Republic and Canton of Geneva and the support of Swiss Solidarity.

Armoiries République et Canton de Genève

What is the goal of the program?

The goal is to facilitate the integration and the learning of French of children and young people newly arrived in Geneva by climbing and practicing activities with children or young people who live in Geneva and who speak French.

Tchili Easy Learning’s team offers a totally innovative approach to learning. Instead of going to a regular class, you will:

  • Make friends with French speakers and discover the local culture
  • Practice indoor and rock climbing with French speaking partners
  • Discover and practice various others sports in clubs that you may join in pairs with your French speaking partner
  • Share with your language partner what you specially like about your country or culture (traditions, recipes) and make him or her discover where you are from.
  • Create, in pairs with your language partner, shareable content about the things you discover, the sports you practice and the experiences you have…
  • And of course, learn French while having fun!

How will it take place?

  • First of all, you will pair up with French speaking participants
  • Once a week, you will have a climbing course with your French speaking partner.
  • Every Saturday you will spend half a day with your language partner either rock climbing, rappelling, exploring caves, snowshoeing, skiing… or discovering and practicing various sports offered by clubs in Geneva.
  • During school holidays:
    • You will spend the week either discovering various climbing activities and cliffs or, depending on the season, practicing winter sports. Except for one unforgettable night spent in a mountain hut, you will go home in the evening. Of course, this will take place with your language partner.
  • To create your shareable content with your language partner, we will lend you a pocket camera if you don’t have one. You may take pictures, create small videos, audios, or even write small articles with your partner.
    • In order to assist you in this task, we will be providing support during weekly office hours that will fist take place in person and afterwards remotely.
    • During these office hours, you will also be able to ask for support on school home work if you need some
    • To make it easier to quickly be able to talk with your French program mates, you will be given small audio files for daily practice. This way you will understand most of the vocabulary used during the activities.
  • Get to know and presentation evenings. Twice during the program, you may invite your family and friends to our get to know and presentation evening. This will be an exceptional to share your experiences in person and to get around an amazing intercultural pot-luck to discover various dishes and tastes form allover.
